Applying for a Czech Republic Employee Card requires more than just submitting your degree certificates and background checks. The Czech Ministry of the Interior (MVCR) is extremely strict regarding document verification. All foreign documents must undergo a formal legalization process (Apostille or Superlegalization) and be translated by a certified Czech court translator.
1. The Legalization Process: Apostille vs. Superlegalization
- Apostille: Required if your home country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. This is a stamp issued by your country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Superlegalization: Required if your country is not a Hague member. The document must be verified by your MFA and then legalized by the Czech Embassy in your country.
2. Certified Czech Translations
Ordinary English translations are not accepted. Every document not in Czech must be translated by a court-certified Czech translator registered with the Czech Ministry of Justice. The translation must be bound directly to the original or legalized copy.
